We just arrived home from our trip to Florida, Monday the 22nd in time for Rolf to repack his suitcase for his return to China on Monday, February 29th. Time has passed quickly but it has been full and rich – time with family, time with friends and our trip to Florida.
The trip was also full and rich, visiting with friends from Gainesville to Bradenton and in between and our sweet time with Debbie, Sherri’s sister-in-law. The memorial celebrating her brother’s life was beautiful and emotional. He was loved by all that knew him and it was heartwarming to hear so many stories of how people remembered him and how he touched their lives with his caring, humility, kindness, generosity and his sense of humor. His absence will not only leave a void in our lives but in many others as well. PRAY for Debbie as she grieves and has to adjust to life without him.
Even though there is “no place like home” Rolf is anxious to get back to China and his students and his students are anxious for him to come back. He has 3 more weeks of his “Faith or Fiction” class left. These 6 students have all already accepted Christ. PRAY they continue to grow in their faith. Four students are already waiting for the next class to start.
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he. I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4
Rolf is returning with a few health issues. He has seen a doctor and is “released” to go back but he does need to do some follow up when he returns end of June. Please PRAY for protection for his health especially while he is gone. We don’t want any medical emergencies there!
And please continue to PRAY…
Boldness for Rolf but with caution and discernment
God would open many hearts to come to know Him
Good health and safe travels
And always — that both he and Sherri keep their eyes fixed firmly on Jesus trusting in His Sovereignty
Stay tuned for more adventures to come. Thank you for being on the journey with us!
