August 2013 Update

“We live by faith not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7 seems to be more and more of a reality with this adventure we are on!  Rolf has reservations to leave to go back to China on September 2nd  and has no place to live when he gets there. While he was here his landlord raised his rent by double and the apartment is no longer affordable. Rolf emailed a couple of his students and they moved all his belongings out and took them to another teacher who graciously agreed to hold his things. PRAY he finds a suitable and affordable apartment after he gets there.

Another issue – in the last few months we have lost some of our support – one was a large one and we are feeling the “pinch.” We are very grateful to God for some unexpected gifts that we have received and for those that provided them that have allowed Rolf to get an airline ticket to China and for us to pay the bills this month.

God is holding us close and fully dependent on Him for the things we need. We trust He will provide because we know we serve a faithful God! “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

Even with all of the medical stuff Rolf had it has been a good summer.  His home leave has been a little longer than usual so this stay was more relaxed and we were able to catch up with family and friends, take a trip to Utah to celebrate our granddaughter, Sydney’s wedding and visit friends in Colorado. We have been able to just enjoy some fun things together here at home, Sherri’s brother, Art and wife, Debbie were here for a visit and now Rolf is making the “last” round of seeing family and friends before leaving.

Thank you for all your prayers for this time when he was home it was good and the time was needed and well spent.

Now he is ready to return to his students and the work God has for him to do. He will only be there 3 months before he will be home again. He has to leave the country every 90 days and his visa also expires at this time. He has reservations to come home December 2nd – and will be home for Christmas for the first time in a long time! God willing he will apply for another visa and go back.

So please keep your prayers coming.  PRAY after being gone this long Rolf can pick up with the discipling of his students.  PRAY for Sherri as she has to adjust to him being gone again.

Thanks for being on this adventure with us.  We couldn’t do it without you!
