February 2013 Update

What do we know. . . . .

Rolf has a reservation to return to China on February 27th, he has a new job at a new school starting March 1st  and he will have to leave China in 90 days after his arrival to have his visa stamped to be able to return and continue to stay (for another 90 days).

What happens in between. . . . . “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (sometime one step at a time!)  Proverbs 3:5-6. NLT.

Rolf doesn’t even know yet where he is going to live once he gets back.

What else do we know. . . . . for the past few years this has been an exceptionally wild and exciting adventure and thinking of those times when he couldn’t get a work permit and/or when the school couldn’t or wouldn’t take him back that this would probably be the last trip.

But God continues to open doors and we are eager to walk through and see where it leads.

The new school is just that a newly opened school.  It is a teaching school where people (mostly adults) come to improve or learn a particular subject apart from their jobs or other schooling.  So teaching times will be mostly evenings and/or weekends.

This is good because it will allow him time to continue making relationships and have time with the other activities in which he has been involved.

In fact he is hoping he might be able to get his old apartment back so he can continue to walk to the university and be near “his 3 boys” that he has been discipling.

Rolf has been home since December 31st , a little longer break than usual but it still went by too quickly.  He and Sherri were able to get some time away with our “annual” trip to Florida.

We enjoyed visits with Sherri’s brother and sister-in-law while we stayed at their restful and relaxing lake house outside of Gainesville.

While there we also took a few days and drove down to Bradenton and had a fun visit with some dear friends there.  Now we get ready for Rolf’s departure back to China.

Please PRAY for Sherri – it is always hard for her to have to say good bye – again.  But we can never say it too much, we are so grateful for all our church family and friends that take care of her while Rolf is gone.

And we have the best neighbors in the whole world!  PRAY for Rolf – safety, health, boldness, acclimation to his new school and that he would be a light in a dark place that would draw many to Jesus.

Another thing we are so very grateful for is YOU.  Thank you for your love, support and prayers.  You are the best team ever!!

Collegiate Day of Prayer

Collegiate Day of Prayer sets goal to pray for every Campus in the US.

Throughout American history our colleges have been repeatedly blessed and transformed by intense seasons of spiritual awakening.

The early records of many of our best universities read like a virtual history of spiritual revival.

In fact, no other nation has ever enjoyed as many student awakenings for as many consecutive years as the United States of America.

For nearly a hundred years the Church in America observed a day of united prayer for God to awaken and revive our colleges.

At a time when the spiritual needs of our nation and world are so great, and so many are calling for more student prayer, is there any reason why this historic day of prayer should not continue?

Do you believe God wants to bring spiritual awakening to America’s colleges?

On Feb. 28, 2013, college students around the nation will unite for the Collegiate Day of Prayer, with the focus on spiritual awakening in universities.

The interdenominational leadership team has set a goal of having 2000 groups from every state in America adopt campuses in order to have someone praying by name for all of the 5,584 colleges in the nation.

Please join 2000 prayer groups across all 50 states to pray for every college campus in America on February 28th, 2013.
